These are some of our contributors’ favorite local businesses to shop at for themselves and their loved ones – human and furry alike. Take a look at the list and make sure to stop by these stores on Small Business Saturday to pick up some great gifts for your family and friends! Bonus: Most of these stores have websites you can order from as well, giving you the convenience of online shopping in your comfiest pj’s while still supporting locally owned businesses!

Parish Ink – For those on your list that love Acadiana, this is the place to shop! From tanks, tees and onesies to drinkware, coasters, koozies and flags, you can find unique and fun gifts for just about anyone on your list. My personal favorite is their Mais Bruh shirt.  

Caroline & Co. – This local shop has been around for 21 years! They carry a wide selection of products which means you can find something for everyone here. It’s a no brainer to stop in and pick up gifts for family and friends alike.

Koi Boutique – Located in the Oil Center, Koi is a boutique specializing in gifts, accessories and kid’s merchandise. Stop in to browse their selection of casual clothing or Mignon Faget jewelry for that special woman in your life.

The Kitchenary – for the chef in your life, stop by The Kitchenary in the Oil Center to pick up culinary products or a gift certificate for gourmet cooking classes. Stop in at lunch time and enjoy a freshly prepared meal too!

Lolli’s Chocolates – Located in the Oil Center, stop in to pick up some of their delicious chocolates as a hostess gift or gift baskets for the chocolate lover in your life. You won’t regret it!

House of Broussard – From furniture to home goods, accessories and unique jewelry, House of Broussard is a great place to find gifts for the hard to shop for women in your life. I stop in every year to pick up a gift for my mother-in-law. The ladies who work there are helpful and sweet, even when you have no idea what you are really looking for.

Melodi’s Belles and Beaus – Whether you are looking for a sweet baby gift or Christmas pj’s and outfits for your own children, Melodi’s has the cutest clothes and some great accessories too. Stop by their store in the South College Shopping Center on Johnston Street. When you are done with your shopping, you pop into Twin’s for a sweet treat, burger or one of their delicious gingerbread cookies!

Paws and Paw Paws – Stop in and pick up a gift card for daycare, boarding and grooming services. While you are there, pick up some treats for your pup’s stocking, including bath bombs and gourmet donuts! 

Homegrown – For those of you looking for unique children’s toys that aren’t found at Target or on Amazon, Homegrown is the place to go! Located on Settler’s Trace, you can find great gifts for babies, littles, sprouts and teens!

Pink Paisley – The Pink Paisley has lots of monogrammable clothing, gifts and accessories for anyone on your list that will help you to bring your Christmas gifts to the next level. Choose your gift and have it personalized for the recipient. They are located in Parc Lafayette, right next to Southfin. Time your trip just right and you can stop in for a poke bowl at Southfin too!

Muse – For the art or jewelry lover on your list, stop in at Muse to browse their unique collection of furnishings, local art and jewelry. Located on Settler’s Trace, you can stop in here then pop into Homegrown for kids’ gifts!

Maven – For the fashionista in your life, pop into Maven Womenswear on Settler’s Trace or Maven Menswear on Rue Promenade for a gift card to either store. They’ve got great pieces to outfit said fashionistas for every occasion, from family Christmas dinner to a rockin’ New Year’s Eve party!
