Dear Ms. Pre-K Teacher,
I just want to start off by thanking you in advance for being chosen to be my only child’s Pre-K teacher. My daughter just turned 4 in April and has been home with me since birth, minus the 2 weeks and 2 days she spent in the NICU. You are going to be a very special person in her life considering you will be the first person, other than myself, to ever have her in your care. I have already prayed and thanked God for you, and even though I have yet to meet you in person, I just want you to know that you are awesome in so many ways. The fact you chose this profession in itself shows that your character and heart are genuine.
As the days pass throughout the year I will continue to pray and thank God for you on a daily basis. You are about to become the other person in my child’s life that is going to make an impact on who she will become one day. You are the first of many, yet the keyword is the first. The first one other than her Mommy or Daddy to teach her, to care for her, to know her, to enjoy her, and most of all to love and cherish this little human that God created.
I also would like to take the time to tell you a little about her. She is so sweet and so kind, her heart well it’s as big as the sky above. She is very shy at first but once she is comfortable with you she will be your little best friend, your best student helper, and she will make you laugh on the days you might not feel like teaching or even being there she will remind you of why you even became a teacher in the first place. And the reason I already know this is because she was my miracle, and on the days that mommy doesn’t feel so good, well, she has this way of making me snap out of myself and jump right back into a better frame of mind. Yes, that’s my girl!
I would also like you to know that I myself am here for you. You are not just her teacher but an extension of myself–the one that taught her first words, her first steps, how to feed her own self and all the others first’s that she has had thus far, now from 8:05 a.m. to 3:17 p.m. I will turn the reigns over to you, and you will begin to teach her the next set of firsts, and for this, I am grateful for you. Just know that I am always a phone call away. I’m that Mom that one you can depend on whatever you might need I am there! I can volunteer, I can bring cookies, I can even bring you anything you may have forgotten at home that you will need to make your day complete. And in saying all of this, just know that this was a child that was prayed for, that took many many years before she came along and made me a Mommy, and know that I am entrusting you with my most valuable possession in this life. I am extending myself to you for you as well as my child so that this journey that we are all about to be on together can and will be successful.
Thank you again in advance and may God’s love surround you throughout this school year and the years to come.
Sincerely,
Your Student’s Mommy
