Pasta :: Easy Weeknight Meals
If you are like me back to school means busy nights of homework and extra-curricular activities. Making sure your family gets a hot, somewhat nutritious meal seems almost impossible.
I am here to share two super simple and quick meals, that you can make with things you probably have in your pantry.
Pesto Noodles
- 1 box of pasta (any kind)
- 2 heaping spoonful of jarred pesto
Boil pasta according to package instructions. Once cooked, drain pasta. Season with your favorite seasonings. Mix in the spoonful of pesto and mix.
You can make this as a side dish or the main meal. You can also add a protein if you choose. Bonus points if you sprinkle with a little cheese.
Sesame Noodles
- 1 box of pasta (preferably spaghetti or linguine)
- 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
Boil pasta according to package instructions. Once cooked, drain pasta. Season with your favorite seasonings. Mix in the sesame oil and soy sauce.
You can also make this as a side dish or main meal. You can also add a protein if you would like. If you are feeling fancy sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onion.
These two meals have saved many nights in my house. My kids ask for ‘green noodles’ at least twice a month. Add this to your arsenal of go to recipes and save yourself some time and stress.
Bon Appetit!
