My Top 10 Favorite Healthy Eating Insta Accounts

Here’s my latest Instagram round-up… this time featuring healthy eating accounts OR accounts that feature some pretty smart hacks.

@themacrobarista

Alex provides the BEST coffee hacks for making your coffee orders less of an indulgence while still tasting amazing. His recipes usually include orders for Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. I have yet to not use one of his recipes when ordering a specialty coffee in over a year because they always taste, IMHO, better than the originals which have ALWAYS been too sweet for my taste.

@cheatdaydesign

Another good “healthy hacks” account. Matt is great at producing graphics for side-by-side comparisons of different food options and debunking “health food” myths. He’s pretty goofy but has some decent info. He also does live taste reviews and is currently working through his Protein Bar version of March Madness brackets.

@rachaelsgoodeats

Rachael is a registered dietician who makes some of the most unbelievable recipes. She also posts some legit workout videos. I have never made one of her recipes and not found them to be delicious. It’s also just interesting to see what types of food an RD eats during her day.

@yourhealthyhedonista

I have Michelle back again because the recipes in her #yhhfeed are always legit. She includes the macros for each recipe and the measurements are always exact and easy to follow. Her cake batter oatmeal changed my life and is my favorite way to eat oats!

@thewonderwomenofficial

These are an entire team of prep and fitness coaches, who very often share recipes they have modified to fit their own macros. The recipes are generally pretty delicious, and typically use ingredients that are easy to find in town.

@elyseaellis

Ok. So I followed @sixsistersstuff for my entire Pinterest career. Their recipes are always delicious, albeit not health conscious. Elyse is ONE of the six sisters, who has spun off and created her own site macrofriendlyfood.com. You can sign up for her monthly meal plans for like $10/month, and honestly, my miserly self is seriously considering doing it. She does still post “freebies” to her insta and they are ALWAYS soooo gooood! I have made like 10 of her recipes and they have yet to fail me… AND they are already loaded in MyFitnessPal so it makes it super easy to track!

@iheartmacros

I can’t list Elyse without listing Quincey because they are two peas in a pod. Quincey also lists some legit recipes and workout and lifestyle tips!

@thevintagefork

Liz is a local physician’s assistant and home cook whose balanced approach to food is a breath of fresh air after some of the more intense accounts. Her recipes always make my mouth water… especially her desserts… which are NOT keto or any other bs that ruins a good dessert… bc they are dessert… LEAVE DESSERT ALONE! Her fridge cleanout meals are super inspirational to this mama who struggles with food waste. AND her husband cooks too! Their new baby girl is precious and seeing her forge forward with that newborn reminds me of the best of my newborn days.

@eatfitacadiana

Another local account featuring Oschner’s Eat Fit program here in Acadiana. I love to follow their page for updates on which local restaurants are partnering with them and if there are new #eatfitapproved items on my favorite menus. They also post recipes and tips on healthy eating.

@culturedguru

The center for all things fermentation. Kaitlynn and Jon are a microbiologist and photographer wife and husband who started the Cultured Guru brand of local ferments in Baton Rouge. I love following all of Kaitlynn’s science. This woman KNOWS her stuff. Jon’s photography of their food makes me actually want to attempt to cook everything on their page. They are also vegan/vegetarian. Like most of us during the pandemic, they began experimenting more with sourdough, and let me tell y’all I drool looking at their bakes.

@shannonmangerchine

Ok so while not an actual healthy eating account, all of Shannon’s recipes are pretty dang healthy. Her website shannonmangerchine.com has so many delicious recipes. My all-time favorite is a simple turmeric chicken soup that officially usurped my previous chicken and veggie soup. Most of her recipes feature #dinnerdoneby9am with prep tips to get the majority of your cooking finished by, you guessed it, 9 am.

I hope you guys find this post helpful and enjoy some of my faves!

Sarah Keating
Sarah is a 30-something mom of four children under six and wife to her high-school sweetheart. She returned to Acadiana two years ago following her husband’s completion of medical school and residency in Shreveport. After the move, Sarah switched gears from full-time pediatric speech-language pathologist and working mom to full-time stay-at-home mom to her brood. Her current hobbies include “speech-therapizing” her children, re-reading the Outlander series, catching up on her Netflix queue after the kids go to bed, completing XHIT videos at naptime, and taking her medication every morning. She loves and respects the sacredness of motherhood, but sometimes you just have to let go and laugh it out. Motherhood has been the most humbling, and empowering journey she has experienced.
