All the Caffeine Without the Booty :: Skinny Coffee Orders

This post is not at all sponsored. But if Starbucks or CC’s wants to sponsor, I can pretty much hang up my hat and head to Heaven.

Four weeks ago this Sunday, I made a decision for myself. I have spent the last 5 years trying to get pregnant, getting pregnant 3 times, staying pregnant, carrying 3 babies, and delivering 3 babies. It is time for me to focus a little bit of attention on myself. It is time for me to love on my body a bit. It has served me so well through some really hard sh*t. I do not have a particular absolute goal weight. I just want to feel better about myself, in my clothes, and just all around better in my skin. I want to have the ability and energy to chase after my kids – for fun.

I will eventually write a post once I have had a little more success on which method I have actually used and succeeded with. But for not, just know that I am not doing anything fancy. No FWTFL, etc. I am just plain Jane counting calories.

But here is the deal – your girl loves food and coffee. So I have had to make a few adjustments.

The biggest daily adjustments have been with my coffee order.

My all-time favorite coffee order is a Starbucks Grande Salted Cream Cold Foam Cold Brew with Caramel Drizzle. This drink comes in at a total of 245 calories. That is not TERRIBLE. And I certainly indulge from time to time. But, because I am drinking more than one cup of coffee a day, I do not intend to “spend” that many calories on one drink. If you have not yet tried the Salted Cream Cold Foam Cold Brew, go today. And tag me on social media. That drink is life-giving. Take my word for it. Or better yet – don’t …

Most days, I am only using 150 of my allotted calories on coffee.

When I prepare coffee at home, I add one tablespoon of creamer (yes, I measure) to 8oz of coffee for a total of about 40 calories per cup total. If I am at home for an extended period of time and on weekends, I usually have two cups – about 80 calories total.

On weekdays, when I am roday-ing (Cajun translation – running the roads) all over Lafayette, I am drinking at least one drive-through coffee.

I am not a fan of artificial sweetener. I would rather unsweet than artificial. So know that you could add sugar-free syrups to any of these drinks. And I can guarantee you that I will be putting my dislike for artificial sweetener aside for that skim sugar-free PSL come mid-August. These are my go-to skinny drinks with their calorie content. I think it is safe to say that you could order similar drinks to all of these from your favorite local coffee shops and be confident in the calorie content – think no sweetener and splashes of heavy cream!

Rebecca Autin
Rebecca is an attorney by day and a toddler wrangler by night. She is a product of divorced parents and grew up in both Thibodaux and Franklin, Louisiana. Rebecca attended Loyola University of New Orleans and Southern University Law Center. Rebecca married her high school bestie in 2012. Quinton and Rebecca went through months of infertility before giving birth to Maxwell Lincoln in 2015. In 2016, they were surprised by a baby boy due in June 2017. But, in February 2017, they suffered with incompetent cervix and delivered sweet Theodore Paul too soon. In October 2018, after an incredibly difficult pregnancy, a cerclage, and a whole bunch of bedrest, Fitzgerald Joseph was born -- a happy, healthy, and perfect rainbow. If you can't find Rebecca, you can summon her with pot of freshly brewed coffee or look for her in Target or behind the kitchen island where she is hiding from her kids with a very generous pour of red.
