My Costco Shopping List

When I die, just go dump my ashes over Costco. I make my weekly trip to Costco sometime over every weekend. Ideally, I go alone, but my girls and my husband also have a large amount of love in their hearts for Costco. We eat an insane amount of fruits and veggies, and Costco has the best prices around. We also love that there are so many organic options, usually for not much more money. Costco helps us keep our healthy eating (Paleo/Whole 30) on a budget, and we love a good budget at Casa de Courville. I’m not going to divide up everything in my usual Costco haul, but rather group some basics and write about my absolute favorites. I mean, we buy strawberries, the end, but who wants to hear about my delicious brown rice and cauliflower noodle find?!!

Here’s my little video of my complete Costco grocery haul.

I’ll start with produce. Every week we buy a ton of fruits and veggies. We are all about whole, unprocessed foods to keep us full of energy, and to keep our bellies full!

Fruits:

  1. Bananas
  2. Strawberries
  3. Grapes or Oranges (I let the girls pick which one they want each week.)
  4. Apples
  5. Blueberries
  6. Raspberries or Blackberries (I find blackberries last longer, but I love raspberries.)

Vegetables:

  1. Brussel Sprouts
  2. Spinach
  3. Zucchini
  4. Bag Salad (We stick to Caesar because it has less sugar than the other bag salad options at Costco.)
  5. Mini Peppers
  6. Potatoes (I like the mini creaming potatoes the best, they have the shortest cook time.)
  7. Tomatoes

Meats/Proteins:

  1. Frozen Shrimp (Smaller shrimp are cheaper, so we buy the smaller size shrimp, but the bag is the same weight as the large shrimp.)
  2. Breakfast Sausage or Bacon (I tend to rotate these, and we do brinner once a week.)
  3. Ground Beef
  4. Whole Chickens (I usually just Cajun Injector my chicken the night before and follow these cooking instructions.)
  5. Fish (The Mahi Mahi and the Salmon in the box is DELICIOUS and so easy to prep!)
  6. Rotisserie Chicken (You can’t be this for $5.00, and it’s easy to have on hand in a pinch.)
  7. Eggs (4 Dozen gets us through about 3 weeks! Good thing eggs are cheap!)
  8. Deli Meat Chicken (Omelettes and salads are so much easier when you don’t have to cook a protein!)
  9. Cashews (Whole, lightly salted Cashews are my guilty pleasure.)
  10. Go Raw Pumpkin Seeds (We use this in place of croutons on salad.)

Kid Snacks:

  1. Popcorn
  2. Pirate’s Booty (My kids eat this stuff up!)
  3. Stonyfield Yogurt Pouches
  4. Not Pictured: Goldfish, Nutrigrain Bars

Miscellaneous:

  1. Almond Butter (Costco brand is delicious!)
  2. Almond Milk (I use this in smoothies about twice a week)
  3. Orgain Organic Protein in Vanilla with Superfoods. (Throw it in your smoothie or coffee.)
  4. Nutiva Chia Seeds (I also dump a tablespoon in my smoothie.)
  5. Wawona Festival Blend Frozen Fruit (Mango, Papaya, Strawberries, and Pineapples) (Smoothie Fruit)
  6. Kerrygold Butter (It’s seriously the best butter ever.)
  7. Solare Organic Brown Rice and Cauliflower Fusilli (Even my kids love this replacement for processed noodles! They’re gluten free, and yummy!)

  1. Kendra have you tried the chocolate in that brand? I’ve been looking for a cheaper protein powder option and have heard a few people say they like that one. I’ve been a long time Julian Bakery Paleo Double Chocolate… and honestly it costs more than I like to spend.
