A Day in the Life of a Lafayette Mom Blogger and Her Tainted Tee

One of the best parts about our experience here at Lafayette Moms Blog is that we are lucky enough to get the opportunity to learn about – and partner with – other locally owned mom businesses. There are hundreds of cool companies out there, but don’t y’all feel just a *smidge* less guilty shopping when you’re supporting another mom? Like how neat that my purchase can help her contribute to her home? We recently had the chance to learn more about Tainted Tee, and what follows is a day in the life rocking one of these gems.

The moment my Tainted Tee arrived, I knew it was a good pick.

My immediate and genuine reaction? “I love the fabric, and I LOVE the color.” I’m a huge fan of navy blue, but it’s often too dark to wear with black or jeans. This tee was the perfect shade of blue to wear with denim, or black. Score! The second thing I checked for was the, “Is this long enough to wear with leggings test?” Don’t even lie, you do that, too! Plus five for the Tainted Tee because it was indeed! So far, so good.

I had a busy day planned, and needed something versatile.

I immediately grabbed my new racerback tee, and a favorite pair of leggings. My day was hopefully going to include a workout, and I didn’t want to have to change before I headed to the gym. It’s too much trouble to have to pack a gym bag, so I am constantly on the lookout for clothes I can wear whilst running (not literally) around my lovely city, and then head straight to the gym. Comfy, stylish, and easy are what I’m all about.

Our first stop was the Public Library for some summer reading.

Lillian is going into first grade, so summer reading and Accelerated Reader are now a big priority for us. Fortunately, she doesn’t fight us too much on this, and she loves to read. On Mondays we often head to the library, then to school where she can take AR tests while I work in my classroom preparing for the next school year. I love how comfy my Tainted Tee was while we were sitting around reading, working on puzzles, and moving from shelf to shelf to check out books.

Our next stop was school.

Here’s the thing; it’s summer in Lafayatte (AKA hotter than hot), but I am also a school employee. While there is no summer dress code officially, there are students on campus for summer school and testing. Therefore, I’m not going up to school in crazy short shorts (not that I own anything with less than 5 inch inseams anyway, but that’s another topic), low cut shirts and the like. I try to maintain a little professionalism since I do work here and it’s a school environment with kids. My new tee was absolutely perfect for this; it provided booty coverage, and with leggings and Nikes I felt great and confident heading into school to get some work done!

Next, I got to go to the gym!

People of Lafayette, Red’s is my happy place! I try to get there two or three days a week. During the summer, we head there nearly every day for working out, swimming and sometimes just for lunch! Today, I got to do a pump class, and spend sometime with my dear friend, the stair master. I was curious as to how my Tainted Tee would hold up against a pretty tough workout. Believe me when I say that this shirt did not move! I cannot stand it when my tank moves around, needs to be tucked in again, or slides off my shoulders. This great tee, and it truly held its own! Also, because of the great color (I chose midnight navy), it did not show a tremendous amount of sweat.

Finally, it is Bunco night!

Once a month my group of friends and I get together to play Bunco, a dice game that requires very little skill and requires you to move from table to table. We love it because we get to rotate, and visit with everyone. My Tainted Tee must have given me some good luck because I won! Whoop whoop! I changed up my outfit for Bunco, opting for some jean shorts this time, but I was too lazy and too comfy to change my shirt! Plus, I wanted all my friends to see how cute my new Lafayette tank was. I was also able to tell them all about the whole Louisiana collection of Tainted Tees, all of which are absolutely precious. Jealous yet? Then get yours here!

Versatility for the Win!

By now it’s probably clear that I have a love for tanks and tees. But you know what’s cool about this company? The OTHER mom who took her Tainted Tee for a whirl also agreed!

I had an extremely fast paced and busy day ahead of me, and my Lafayette tee became my versatile find for the day. I basically threw it on with a pair of jeans with almost no thought, and it is literally one of the most comfortable tanks I’ve owned. I paired it with a blazer, jeans and simple wedges for my morning meetings. I went from work to play by taking off my blazer and got in some kid squeezes without fear of my “work clothes” being ruined. If I need anything as a busy, working mother, it’s a Tainted Tee. You can’t beat how cute they are, and you get to sport your Lafayette love.
