I Hope We Remember

The past few weeks have been trying times to say the least. We, as a world, are all united in one common fight. And while there are certainly dark days, this time has drawn out the light in each of us. I don’t know what our world will look like when all is said and done, but I do know this chaos, fear, and uncertainty will eventually subside. When that time comes, I hope we remember what this felt like. That lessons learned will remain with us and make us all better. Make us slower to hate and quicker to offer kindness. I hope we remember what it really means to be a member of the human race. I hope we remember all the good in each other. I hope we remember what’s important.

I hope we remember waving at our neighbors.

I hope we remember smiling at strangers.

I hope we remember blowing bubbles for hours.

I hope we remember gardening.

I hope we remember making sidewalk chalk masterpieces.

I hope we remember rooting for the world.

I hope we remember volunteering our time.

I hope we remember offering our skills.

I hope we remember quiet.

I hope we remember putting the needs of others first.

I hope we remember having time on our hands.

I hope we remember what it’s like to be bored.

I hope we remember calling our grandparents.

I hope we remember cooking together.

I hope we remember riding bikes.

I hope we remember buying only what we need.

I hope we remember spending our day outside.

I hope we remember unity.

I hope we remember solidarity.

I hope we remember praying.

I hope we remember hoping.

I hope we remember loving.

I really hope we remember.
