Mother’s Day Gift and Dining Ideas In and Around Lafayette

I love to support local businesses on every gifting occasion I can. Lafayette is fortunate to have some of the most creative, unique, and delicious options to make Mother’s Day special.

Mother’s Day Dining

Brunch

Tchoup’s MidCity Smokehouse

One of my favorite brunch spots for not only the delicious food, but a great atmosphere, too.

Must eats: the brisket biscuit

Must drinks: the Midcity Sunrise is like an elevated Mimosa–delish.

The French Press

I have never eaten something here that I didn’t love. Located in the heart of Downtown, it has a great atmosphere and some of the best Cajun-flare brunch around.

Must eats: Grits and Grillades (savory) and French Toast (sweet)

Social Southern Table

Another delicious and atmospheric spot in the mid-city area. The food is delicious, but I stay for the cocktails.

Must eats: brunch burger or fried chicken and biscuits

Must drinks: the Mimosa Gone Right is a brunch-must along with the Cold Fashioned–what you love about the Old Fashioned combined with delicious Reve Coffee.

Lunch

Johnson’s Boucaniere

For the more casual diners, Johnson’s has great outdoor seating OR options for takeaway.

Must eats: Boucaniere Board or a Breakfast Bowl. My mouth is literally watering thinking of both of these.

Must drinks: Smoked Bloody Mary

Bon Temps Grill

The brunch and lunch menus are to die for, but come hungry. The options are full of flavor and are sure to satisfy your Cajun cravings.

Must eats: Blackened chicken lettuce wraps, Bananas Foster French Toast, and Crawfish Enchiladas

Must drinks: Cucumber Mojito, Kentucky Mule, and the Nutty Pirate for those who like to drink their dessert

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Adorn

Located Downtown on Jefferson Street, this little shop has beautiful jewelry, clothing, accessories, and knick knacks for mom. For one-of-a-kind pieces with a boho flair, this is the place to shop.

The Silver Suitcase

I always find something unique in Silver Suitcase. My favorite items are the drinkware with clever or funny phrases, the religious jewelry or home decor, and the amazing array of scented candles.

Parish Ink

For the cool mom who likes to sport Louisiana / Acadiana themed tees, drinkware, stickers, flags, etc., this is the place to shop. The designs are gorgeous, and each item is of the highest quality.

Acadian Religious

A true Lafayette gem and staple, this sweet shop is family-owned and has every religious item you might need. From books, candles, medals, cards, statues, and everything in-between, this shop will have it.

Wild Child Wine Shop

Its main offerings is in the name with the most unique wine selection in Lafayette, but you can also find great gifts and cookbooks to pair with a nice bottle for mom. Non-alcoholic beverage options are also available.

Renaissance Market

This shop tucked away in the Oil Center has a beautiful selection of gifts (and a delicious lunch). From high-end jewelry from Chanel, to floral arrangements, to unique clothing pieces, and unique cooking items, this gem offers gift options for every mom in your life.
