tasc Performance – What Dads Want for Father’s Day

tasc Performance – What Dads Want for Father’s Day

A lot of dads probably wouldn’t want clothes for Father’s Day, let alone ask for it. I’m always on the fence about what I want for Father’s Day, but this year I was pleasantly surprised when I got an early gift. My wife and kids presented me with an Integrated Tech (IT) SS Henley shirt, and a Performance Stretch Woven from New Orleans based tasc Performance, a whole month early (apparently being part of Lafayette Moms Blog has its perks!).

Not Your Dad’s Henley T-Shirt

Upon opening the shirts, I noticed the tag. Apparently, this cloth is loaded with tech. Who doesn’t love tech? Ultra-Violet Protection Factor (UPF) of 50, moisture wicking, Anti-Odor?? I’m not sure what makes something anti-odor, but I accepted the challenge. Both shirts are made out of some crazy materials that I’ve never heard of plus bamboo, so it is soft and feels great on the skin. (They make bamboo underwear too!)

On the IT Henley’s first outing, I took straight to the water and of course, without deodorant. How else does one test the Anti-Odor feature? After a day in the sun, the shirt kept me surprisingly cool. It must be due to the tiny perforations in the fabric that spans through the back area of the shirt. Even with those perforations, I made it out without a sunburn. More surprising, is that I made it without any odor! Normally my dry-fit shirts soak up my manly musk. This shirt magically kept me from emitting man musk to my friendly counterparts. It is also worth mentioning that this shirt comes with a pocket … on the bottom side of the shirt (it can fit a key or a card). Also, it has a loop on the inside collar, apparently for looping a headphone cord.

Your New Favorite Work Shirt

The next day I got to try out the Performance Stretch. After trying the shirt on, I noticed that the material has a lot of stretch to it and it seemed to have a tailored fit. Being that I am more of an in-betweener when it comes to sizes, I failed to get the right size that would allow for the tailored fit to work for me. So, if you are in-between sizes, be sure to go down in size so the shirt does not feel too baggy. The Performance Stretch stayed true to its promise, to keep me cool in the hot sun, just like the IT Henley.

Overall, both shirts exceeded my expectations and I would definitely get the Tech shirt for future outdoor outings. These shirts combine technology with fashion and will be my future go-to when selecting additions to my summer wardrobe. Especially during my future work outings in the hot Louisiana sun. My only regret is that I didn’t get the size medium Performance Stretch shirt.
