Dreams Do Come True; I Bought a Minivan!

Women driving in car

Now that I am pregnant with baby number three, I knew that we would have to upgrade our vehicle to accommodate our growing family. So many of mom my friends have all shouted from the roof tops “I will NEVER buy a minivan!” I know that driving a minivan makes you look like a mom, but guess what? I AM a mom. This vehicle fits the phase of my life of passing back sippy cups and goldfish. Having a vehicle that helps us function more comfortably as a family is totally worth looking a little less cool in other people’s opinions. Below are the reasons the minivan is my dream car for this phase of my life:

The practicality of the vehicle makes me swoon! It is set up for families to easily function in their day-to-day lives. The sliding doors, compartments for storage, extra seating, and a DVD player. Oh my! The amenities fit the needs of our growing family to a T.

Field Trips and Slumber Parties: I am so excited to easily be able to tote the friends of my kiddos around to field trips, slumber parties, and extracurricular activities! I can fit 8 people comfortably in our van.

Gas Mileage: The gas mileage is significantly less in a minivan than in a suburban.

Perfect for Road Trips: We will be able to comfortably fit my family of five (and all of our stuff) for road trips! I’m really looking forward to taking trips this summer.

Easy for Little Legs to Get in and Out: Because minivans are lower to the ground, it is easier for kids to get in and out of the vehicle with less assistance than other types of vehicles. The sliding doors make school drop off and pick up a breeze.

Minivans Rate High on Safety: Minivans are made with safety in mind. Check out the safety ratings for the top minivans of 2023!

Less Expensive Than a Large SUV: Minivans are significantly less expensive than a large SUV! I am all about saving where I can. Check out the price comparison between a new large SUV and a new minivan.

I know there is a stigma amongst fellow Millennial parents with the idea of buying a van, but I encourage you to have an open mind. Buying a minivan is embracing the phase of life that I’m in. If you are considering buying a van instead of an SUV, come on in the water is fine!
