Quiet Water Beach :: The Family Friendly Beach You Need To Visit
My family recently took a trip to Pensacola, Florida. Pensacola is by far one of my favorite vacation spots. It is a five-hour drive from Lafayette. The town is full of non-beach activities to partake in. But clearly the beach is the main attraction. The beach is not nearly as crowded as its neighbors in Gulf Shores and Destin. On this particular trip my family discovered a new (to us) beach in Pensacola, and it is now our favorite spot!
Quiet Water Beach
Quiet Water Beach lives up to its name. It is not nearly as crowded as Pensacola Beach and prides itself on being family friendly. It is located on the shallow waters along Santa Rosa Sound. There is a boardwalk that has lots of eateries and shops. Further down the beach, there are businesses with wave-runners, kayaks, boats, and other water related rental equipment. There are tons of activities to do such as parasailing, snorkeling, paddle boarding, or even a dolphin cruise. And if none of that piques your interest, you can just relax on the beach.
As mentioned, the water is shallow, so my girls were able to go out further in the water than they were at Pensacola Beach. Also, the water was clear and extremely calm. The beach was very clean and for the most part quiet. There were several families there when we went and all of the kids made instant friends and played in the water, while the adults were able to relax.
Another perk of this beach is that the parking lot is located right on the beach. So, there was no need to pack a wagon and lug all your beach supplies across the sand. Simply pop your trunk and walk to your spot on the sand.
On this particular trip, as the day was coming to an end, the dolphins put on a show for all on the beach. It was truly breathtaking and the highlight of the day.
