Favorite Holiday Finds At Aldi
If you’ve never been to Aldi before, now’s the perfect time. Their holiday foods and drinks, decor, and amazing Advent calendars are in store now. The German owned grocery store has lots of European foods, wines, and a cheese lover’s dream section of different cheeses. I went in search of their renowned wine Advent calendars and did not come home empty handed.
Maybe you’re an Aldi lover but if it’s your first time, don’t forget your quarter for the shopping cart and bring your own grocery bags.
Advent Calendars
I got a sale flyer in the mail other day and was perusing through all of the deals Aldi has to offer right now. I stumbled upon the Advent calendar section. I’ve always wanted to try their wine advent calendar but was never able to find one in store, but this year I shopped early and scored one. I popped open number one to see the size of the bottle and it’s the perfect size to try out a new wine. Don’t make the same mistake I did though. When I got home, I realized there is also a cheese advent calendar that pairs with the wine calendar. How fun is that? There is also a QR code on the box so you can read about each wine, like what country it’s from and what else it pairs well with. I’m so excited to try these in December. There are also beer calendars, sparkling wine calendars, and 12 days of cider box.
Kids Advent Calendars
There are some really cute kids Advent calendars. For the little ones, there’s Cocomelon, Bluey, and Paw patrol. For the older kids, there’s Pokémon, Legos, and Mini brands.
Decor
There is an aisle filled with seasonal decorations. How cute are these fall themed tablecloths for only $3.49? I did see some Christmas sheets with adorable gnomes on them too.
Charcuterie Shop
I love throwing together a charcuterie board for holiday parties because its quick, and I don’t have to cook anything. Well Aldi has a whole charcuterie shop filled with different crackers and toasts, jams and jellies, basically everything you need to create a perfect board. Not to mention, their amazing selection of cheeses.
Alcohol
Aldi has a lot of alcohol options. Different flavors of Gluhwein, which is a German mulled wine. Plus, a holiday party pack of hard seltzers.
Chocolate and Sweets
There were so many good chocolates, breads, pastries, and desserts. Some that stood out were: Belgian chocolate hot cocoa bombs, individual creme brulee pots, sea salt caramel & chocolate chunk cookie dough, and chocolate chip with almond brittle cookie dough. We ended up trying a pumpkin cake roll with butter cream filling, and it was amazing. It would be the perfect dessert to bring for Thanksgiving.
