Youngsville is Exploding in Flavor :: The New Restaurants We Can’t Wait to Visit

Youngsville :: LOUISIANA’S Roundabout Capital is soon to be EXPLODING IN FAVOR!

With two boys, a preteen and a teenager, we have never eaten out so much in our little family’s lifetime. The boys’ school, after-school, and weekend schedules keep us slammed! These days, it is easier to dine out than plan dinner and cook at home. We are keeping our eyes on four new restaurants coming to town and cannot wait to visit each one!

MANDEZ’S SEAFOOD BAR AND GRILL

Mandez’s Seafood Bar and Grill has been a staple in Lafayette since 2017. Offering fish, seafood, and authentic cajun fares, this popular hot spot is expanding into their second location at the old Bourree Restaurant on Chemin Metairie. The sign is up and hiring is taking place as we speak. We cannot wait for the doors to open! I am super impressed with Mandez’s extensive menu. From eggplant fries, tons of seafood options, burgers, and sandwiches (including Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road?), there is something for everyone at in dining party.

TaD’s LOUISIANA COOKING

We pass by the construction site for TaD’s multiple times a day as it sits on the Bonin Road and Milton Avenue roundabout. The building has been fun to watch as pieces of the restaurant are brought to the site and situated together like a jigsaw puzzle! Their impressive menu offers BREAKFAST (hallelujah!), lunch, and dinner. The atmosphere on the website appears to be casual and entertaining. I have a feeling TaD’s will be frequented by the Kosmer household!

THE TAP ROOM

I’m looking forward to the vibe The Tap Room will bring to its 2nd location in Sugar Mill Pond. Craft beers, specialty drinks, and daily specials are sure to be a hit after a day spent running the boys around town. This location needs three things to flourish: 1) a family atmosphere 2) various menu options (for adventurous eaters and picky eaters) 3) great service. The Tap Room appears to be right on par with all these requirements!

PS. My husband added a fourth “need”: plentiful beer on tap. From the looks of things, The Tap Room has this well covered!

VILLAGER’S CAFE

Villager’s Cafe is celebrating 26 years in Acadiana and claims to be “Louisiana’s Best Kept Secret.” Their second location is coming along quickly next to POUR on Chemin Metairie. Menu offerings include PoorBoys, seafood, and southern-style platters. For dessert: beignets and funnel cake fries! I have a feeling Villager’s will stay busy after all the games are played at the Youngsville Sports Complex. Fair warning, Villager’s! Hungry athletes headed your way!

Amanda Kosmer
Amanda grew up in East Texas with the last name of “Thibodeaux”. As a child, she found her last name was very odd and even more peculiar to pronounce! She and her husband are recent transplants to Youngsville where they are raising their two energetic boys. Amanda is a girly girl who loves all things feminine: the sparkle of new earrings; the glamour of a perfectly red lipstick. She has proclaimed to be many things: an old soul born in the wrong era, a land-locked mermaid, and a bull in a china shop. A booklover since she can remember, Amanda indulges herself in the smell of freshly printed pages and can’t stand the stench of an old book… she wonders “who else has touched that book and what images did they conjure up as they read the very same tale?” This thing is for certain, however, Amanda is a mother who believes in the power of Faith, dreams, and imagination. One of Amanda’s most favorite quotes by Erin Hanson gives wings to her dreams: “What if I fall? Oh, but darling, what if you fly?”
