CM Farms :: Worth The Drive From Lafayette To Dry Creek, Louisiana
If you are looking for an easy day trip from Lafayette, look no further than CM Farms in Dry Creek, Louisiana!! Looking for a change in scenery and some adventure, I decided to pack us up (and some necessities) to make the 1 hour and 30 minute drive from Lafayette to CM Farms. We had such a great time enjoying all the festivities they have to offer and making memories along the way. CM Farms offers so many things to do that we easily spent the day at the farm without getting bored.
What to Expect With Kids at CM Farms ::
They are a real working farm, growing strawberries, pumpkins, and — all while raising cows, chickens and bunnies. We had a good time looking around too! They are open seasonally with 50+ attractions, friendly farm animals, and events. It is located just a little North of Dry Creek, Louisiana.
Opening September 27, 2025
Fall is just around the corner! Pumpkins, 50+ attractions, a 12-acre maze, farm animals, outdoor games, wagon rides, cute photo props and so much more are awaiting. They have something special planned for each weekend.
According to their website, here is a list of activities they have planned for this season:
- Hometown Heroes: September 27 & 28
- Not-So-Spooky Carnival: October 25 & 26
- Christmas on the Farm: November 22, 23, 29 & 30
We love to get there early and stay late. My daughter and husband are definitely animal lovers. Our favorite part is to first take a photo op then go straight to see all the animals to tell them all good morning!
One activity worth mentioning is the hay ride which takes you through the farm and the other side where you see all the crops growing, possibly even a cow or two sitting under the shade chilling out.
How Much Does It Cost?
They offer a “General Admission,” which includes access to all 50+activities. In the past, there was also an option for a Super Pass which included additional activities. Be sure to check back for 2025 pricing when ticket sales open.
Beginning September 15th at 8am, there will be a Flash Sale ONLINE HERE for $9 off admission price {limited quantities are available}
Items To Pack ::
- Wipes
- A sunhat depending what time of year you go
- Snacks for the car ride
- A change of clothes for the littles that might get a bit dirty from all the fun rolling around and about.
Shop & Eat ::
Where to start?! We enjoyed browsing for gifts, fudge, jarred goods, roasted nuts, burgers, pizza and seafood. The food is actually pretty yummy and the fudge shop is my daughter’s favorite.
We are definitely looking forward to a trip to pick strawberries when they are in season considering strawberries are a staple in our home. The idea of picking them straight off the farm is something we are definitely looking forward to doing. The last time we went the crops were not ready, giving us a definite incentive to return.
