Experience Sushi Elevated :: Nhi Taste of Asia

If you’re looking for a sushi spot in Lafayette that feels a little elevated, Nhi Taste of Asia is absolutely worth a visit!

From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere sets the tone — clean, modern, and elegant. My husband and I went with two other couples. It was perfect for a date night experience, but we also saw several families dine with their kids!

As for shared appetizers between the couples, we ordered aged tofu, beef jerky (served with a volcano sauce) and calamari.

One of the standout dishes was the Torched Yellowtail Roll. It was incredibly fresh, with that perfect texture. The flavor of the fish was so good! With a focus on quality of fish, all the sushi rolls were delicious. Paired with the presentation, each plate was beautiful. Half the fun was seeing the different style plates the sushi was presented on. We also ordered the vegetable roll and Sweet Coco Roll.

And surprisingly, one of the most memorable things we had wasn’t even sushi — the spicy seasoned edamame. I don’t know why I’ve never had flavored edamame before, but this completely changed my mind! I don’t know how I can go back to eating regular sea salt edamame. It had the perfect balance of flavors, making it hard to stop eating. Definitely something I’d go back for again!

Overall, Nhi strikes a really nice balance: high-quality sushi, attention to detail, and an inviting atmosphere that makes you want to linger a little longer. Whether you’re a big sushi fan or just looking to try something new, it’s a spot that delivers both on flavor and experience.
