How My Husband Became a Harley Guy {And I Became His Favorite Passenger}
The Moment that Changed Everything – All It Took
Life has a funny way of surprising us – sometimes with the most unexpected passions. I never imagined “motorcycle life” would become part of our story, but here we are, living it together. All it took was one moment — my husband sat on his buddy’s Harley Davidson motorcycle, and something lit up in him. I never expected him to wake up the next morning and say, “Bey, I think I want a motorcycle.” But believe it or not, that’s exactly what happened — a new chapter began, and the rest is history.
The Search Was On
It took a while for him to find the right bike since he was just starting out. He dove right in and spent months researching, browsing online, and even connecting with a salesman who would send him pictures of new arrivals to see if any caught his eye.

One Saturday, we decided to stop by our local Harley Davidson dealership during an event they were hosting. We brought along our caboose and our newest doodle, Nola. It was our first time attending anything like this. This day felt different, and honestly, we were shocked by the number of bikes and riders there. It was a whole new world.
The day went surprisingly well. I looked at my husband and said, “This is the day. You’re going to buy your very first motorcycle.” Because after everything he does for us, he deserved this moment.
Taking the Ride Seriously – Doing It Right
After a few visits, we learned that Harley Davidson offered a motorcycle safety and classroom course. My husband didn’t hesitate to ask, “Bey, will you take it with me?”
At first, I just laughed. “Say what now?” Me? On a motorcycle course? But he was serious — and of course, I said yes. I’ve always supported him, just like he supports me.

We took the course together. I learned the terminology, practiced the obstacles, and honestly, I was doing pretty well — until it came time to shift gears. I froze, and that’s when I knew my time as a driver had ended. But that was okay. The important thing was that he finished, and I was proud to be by his side through it all.
That weekend is one I’ll never forget. And ever since, I’ve embraced my role: I’m his forever riding partner.
Life on the Road Together
Work keeps him busy, but he always makes time to ride. If the weather’s good, he’ll even take the bike to work. We’ve been on a few rides together, and every one of them has been smooth and memorable.

There’s something different about being on a motorcycle — the wind, the music playing, the easy back-and-forth conversations in our ear pieces, the sights we pass, the miles we track. It’s peaceful, connected, and exciting all at once.
He’s taken me to parks and places I’d never seen before. And every time he says, “Bey, let’s take the bike out,” I can feel the excitement building. He gets our Harley gear ready, wipes the bike down, hands me my helmet, and once those loud pipes roar to life — Mom and Dad are on the road.
Wherever we travel, we always make it a point to visit the local Harley Davidson store. It’s become a tradition. Even if we leave with just a coin or a shirt, it’s part of the experience. I’ve become a Harley girl — and I never imagined I’d say that, or that my husband would be a Harley rider.
New Adventures Never Hurt
Even though this is still new to us, we’ve met some amazing people along the way. We were shy at first — not sure how we fit in — but now that he’s comfortable on his bike and knows the rules of the road, he fully enjoys it. And I absolutely love being along for the ride.
